Well ladies and gentlemen, once again Farrar has through means of glorious combat picked their Pumpkin King. The pumpkin smash was last night. Don't know what a pumpkin smash is? Well image pumpkins thrown off of the roof of a dorm onto a large tarp, beat to a pulp and then used as the grounds for a king-of-the-mat wrestling extravaganza! There must have been 300 spectators there, including the Campus Pastor, and The Schools president and his wife. Being an upper classman I got first dibs on throwing pumpkins off of the roof! Unfortunately while up there I managed to cut my leg quite badly on a vent pipe. Undaunted I still fought. My costume this year was the old standby, the sleeveless shirt dress. This I wore with french braided hair. I got alot of cat calls from the crowd and I think entertained them a bit. Also I joined the group of guys in the dorm fighting for the honor of a lady. My lady procured at the last minute was Juliet Sena the makeup lady for the play. i displayed her colors(a friendship bracelet) and I found out afterwards she wore a headband in honor of me. I only came in 11th place out of about 35, but I must say I fought like a mule when they tried to drag me out. Also I must thank Jon Daniels who attempted to save me from being thrown out but was a tad late. All in all the pumpkin smash is one of my all time favorite things to do and I will miss it in the future. Jake |
| Bekah November 16, 2005 03:26 PM PST Oh, and my favorite part of the throwing-of-pumpkins-from-the-roof had to be when you ran smack into that wire and the thing started wobbling all over the place... too funny. You looked cute in the dress with your hair done though. :) | ||

| Larry November 13, 2005 01:01 AM PST It was fun to watch! Scott is still my hero even though he was one of the first group of guys out. | ||
